Dhamra Port celebrates Productivity Day

Dhamra (Bhadrak): To
mark the date of commencement of its commercial operations, the Dhamra Port on
Tuesday celebrated the occasion as Productivity Day. On May 6, 2011 the deep
sea modern port had started its commercial operations.

The major attraction of the Productivity Day celebrations
was the opening of productivity exhibition stalls to showcase and market
various products by the women SHG groups developed by the CSR wing of Dhamra
Port. CEO DPCL Sri Santosh Kumar Mohapatra inaugurated the exhibition in the
presence of the company Chief Operating Officer Sri Subrat Kumar Tripathy and
Vice-President Cdr Anil Kumar Kar.
A stall of various craft items prepared from paddy by
Matrushakti Woman SHG group, developed by Dhamra Port in Kaithakhola area in
port periphery were displayed for sale.
Similarly, a stall of Agarbati manufactured by another Woman
SHG of Rabindranagar village in Dosinga panchayat, called Maa Dhamrai Agarbati
Producer SHG jointly supported by Dhamra Port and ORMAS was also housed at the
Productivity Day exhibition.
Another stall of dry fish, prepared in solar fish dryer
donated by Dhamra Port for the local fisherman was also opened for sale of the
produces. There was huge response from visitors and port officials and port
township families.
The Productivity Awards for community was also given away
during the function. Kalipada Das, a local farmer of Jhadakata village in
Dhamra panchayat was awarded for doing best farming and horticulture in the
periphery region.
Sukumar Maity, a dry fish farmer from Chianipahi village in
Dosinga panchayat was awarded for doing highest dry fish business during last
year.
Asok Jena, the owner
of Shree Bijaya Ice Factory in Dhamra area was awarded for doing highest
production of ice slabs required by fishing trawlers for storage of fish.
On the occasion of Productivity Day celebrations, there were
presentations by various departments of the port to indicate about their
performances and plans of action for increasing productivity.
