Train service disrupted due to heavy rain in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In view of continuing rain since two days due
to low pressure, rain water was flowing between Saragipali and Handapa stations
in Angul-Sambalpur rail section and mud fallen between Keutguda and Sikarpai
stations in Rayagada-Koraput Railway Section resulting in partial disruption of
train services during morning hours, said a press release issued by the East
Coast Railway (ECoR).
In view of cases mud, boulder and tree falling on railway
track in hill areas, ECoR has decided to cancel and short-terminate some trains
as per the following in the interest of Safety of Train operations.
While Sambalpur-Koraput-Sambalpur passenger will be
cancelled on August 5 from both the directions, Rourkela-Koraput Express
leaving Rourkela and Visakhapatnam-Koraput Express leaving Visakhapatnam on
Monday has already been cancelled.
Similarly, Koraput-Visakhapatnam Express scheduled to leave
Koraput on August 5 will be cancelled.
Bhubaneswar-Jagadalpur Express leaving Bhubaneswar on Monday
has run upto Rayagada and return back from Rayagada to Bhubaneswar on Tuesday and
will remain cancelled between Rayagada and Jagadalpur from both the directions
on Tuesday.
The Howrah-Jagadalpur Samaleswari Express scheduled to leave
Howrah on Monday has only run upto Titilagarh and will return back from
Titilagarh to Howrah on Tuesday. This train will remain cancelled between
Titilagarh and Jagadalpur from both the directions.

Special Railway Inspection and Safety Teams have been
deployed at all sensitive locations to keep a sharp look-out for any
abnormality.
