5,634 High School teachers to be recruited on contract basis in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, October 21: As many as 5634 contractual
teachers, including 494 Trained Intermediate and Matric teachers and 5,100
Trained Graduate Science and Arts teachers will be recruited in Government high
school level soon.
School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra on
Tuesday approved the file after the State Finance department gave its nod on
the proposal.
According to an official release, the age limit for general
candidates has been fixed at 32 years, the SC, ST, women SEBC and disabled
candidates would get age relaxation as per the Government rule.
The release further stated that the candidates would need to
pass the OTET exams for the posts and those who have not qualified the OTET exams
would be given three chances to pass the exam in two years of time.
The numbers of posts to be filled up district-wise include
Angul (179), Balasore (338), Bargarh (138), Bhadrak (524), Bolangir (97), Boudh
(45), Cuttack (321), Deogarh (52), Dhenkanal (182), Gajapati (32), Ganjam
(595), Jagatsinghpur (296), Jajpur (314), Jharsuguda (77), Kalahandi (93),
Kandhamal (37), Kendrapada (362), Keonjhar (266), Khordha (414), Korpaut (75),
Malkangiri (16), Mayurbhanj (264), Nabarangpur (38), Nayagarh (212), Nuapada
(50), Puri (262), Rayagada (62), Sambalpur (55), Subarnapur (62) and Sundargrh
(196).
