Bhubaneswar, December 6:  Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday left
for New Delhi on a four day visit. He is scheduled to return the State on
December 9.
The Chief Minister will attend the Chief Ministers’ meeting
on Sunday convened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the structure,
scope and role of the new body that will replace Planning Commission in the
changed economic scenario under the new Government.
Sources said the Prime Minister will seek the views of Chief
Ministers on the shape and functions of the body which would replace the
Planning Commission.
Sources added that Modi has convened the meeting of all Chief
Ministers on Sunday to elicit their views on the restructuring of Planning
Commission.
Meanwhile, while responding to a question about his party’s
stand on new Janata Parivar, Patnaik said it is too early to comment on it and
we have no thought about it.

There have been a lot of deliberations within the Commission
itself on making the institution more in tune with the changing requirements of
the nation.
