Bhubaneswar, December 17: The Odisha BJP expects a
congregation of over one lakh people at a public meeting of party national
president Amit Shah here on January 6, on the first day of his two-day visit to
Odisha.
Party Odisha unit president KV Singh Deo told reporters here
that the public meeting will be held at a field located backside the Capital
Hospital in Unit VI area.

“Though we appealed to the State administration for allowing
us to hold the public meeting at PMG Square, the administration denied
permission on the plea that no political meeting has been allowed at the site
since last three years and Section 144 of CrPC is enforced at the site
throughout the year,” said Singh Deo.
“While agitators have been holding demonstrations and public
meetings with police protection along the Mahatma Gandhi Marg and PMG Square
then why the BJP was denied permission,” Singh Deo demanded to know.
According to Singh Deo, Shah will reach the city airport at
9.25 am on January 6 and will be present at the public meeting at Unit VI field
from 11.30 am to 2pm. Later, he will hold discussions with party leaders
between 3.30 pm and 7 pm the same day.
