346 posts of doctors lying vacant in 3 Govt medical colleges in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, February 13: Health and Family Welfare Minister
Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak on Friday informed the Odisha Assembly that 2,272 posts
of various categories, including 346 post of doctors are lying vacant in three
Government-run medical college and hospitals in the State. 
Replying to a query of MLA Dilip Ray, the Minister informed
the House that as many as 346 posts, including Professor, Associate Professor
and Assistant Professor posts are lying vacant at the SCB Medical College and
Hospital, Cuttack, MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Brahmapur and VSS Medical
College and Hospital, Burla. 
As far as doctors posts are concerned the Minister informed
that out of the total 147 vacant posts at the SCB Medical College, five
approved Professor, 11 Associate Professor and 131 Assistant Professor
positions are lying vacant.
At the MKCG Medical College and Hospital, out of the total
100 vacant posts, four Professor, eight Associate Professor and 88 Assistant
Professor positions are lying vacant.
Same is the case with the VSS Medical College in Sambalpur.
Six Professor, nine Associate Professor and 84 Assistant Professor positions
are lying vacant out of the total 99 vacant posts.  
    
Out of the total 705 vacant positions at the SCB, the
Minister informed the House that 409 Class IV employees, 129 staff nurse and
149 pharmacists posts are lying vacant.
MKCG Medical College and Hospital also faces the heat with
702 vacant positions. Out of the total 702 vacant posts the Hospital faces a
vacancy of 100 doctors, the Minister revealed.
At the VSS Medical College and Hospital out of the total 519
vacant posts 99 are of doctors.
