Bhubaneswar, July 31: Odisha Higher Education Minister
Pradeep Panigrahy has informed that more than 30,000 Plus II meritorious students
passed in 2014 and 2015 would get laptops under the Odisha Government’s free
laptop scheme by September this year.
According to the Minister, while around 15,203 meritorious
students passed in 2014 would get laptops in August more than 15,000 students
passed in 2015 would get the same in September.
Resentment grew among the students as the State Government could
not distribute free laptops to meritorious Plus II students though the 2014-15
academic session has come to an end since a long.
The government had
launched the free laptop programme in 2013 and distributed 15, 235 laptops last
year to Plus II students on the basis of their Class X examination marks.

The laptops will be distributed under the Biju Yuva
Sashaktikaran Yojana.
