Bhubaneswar, May 26: The National Assessment and Accreditation
Council (NAAC), an autonomous body under the University Grants Commission (UGC)
of India, has accorded ‘A’ grade status to the KIIT University, which secured a
high score of 3.48 out of 4 points (87%), joining the league of 11 elite
institutions like IITs, JNU, TISS and the likes.
A 15-member NAAC Peer Team had assessed the quality
standards of the university and found it in tandem with respect to the criteria
relating to the educational processes and outcomes, covering the curriculum,
teaching-learning, evaluation, faculty, research, infrastructure, learning
resources, organisation, governance, financial wellbeing and student services
prescribed by the council.
The KIIT University in a short span of just 12 years has
evolved into a nationally acclaimed and multi-disciplinary institution
providing quality education in technology, medicine, law, media, biotechnology,
management, rural managements, etc.
Earlier also, in 2001 and 2008, the KIIT was granted ‘A’
Grade by the NAAC. This is for the third time that the NAAC has accredited the
KIIT in top grade.
KIIT Group of Institutions founder Dr Achyuta Samanta
attributed it as the achievement of the combined efforts of the faculty and
students of various campuses of the university. The KIIT’s journey on the path of
excellence would continue, he reiterated.
