523 Haj pilgrims from Odisha leave for Mecca

Bhubaneswar, Aug 11: As many as 523 Haj pilgrims from Odisha
have left for holy pilgrimage to Mecca today. 
 

“Distributed special kits among the 523 pilgrims and wished
them safe and comfortable journey,” Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik posted in his
Facebook page after attending an event to wish the pilgrims.
“Speaking with them, I reiterated our commitment to welfare
of minorities in our State. Construction on the Haj house at Bhubaneswar with
modern amenities for pilgrims will start soon,” Patnaik further posted. 
He also highlighted several other initiatives like grants
for libraries and laboratories in minority educational institutions along with
multipurpose community centres in 100 minority areas.
The Chief Minister also asserted his Government’s
unflinching resolve towards development and welfare of all communities.
