Bhubaneswar, Sep 26:The SOA University will soon impart self-defense training for its girl students
to inculcate skill and confidence in them to face difficult situations, university
Vice-Chancellor Prof Amit Banerjee said on Monday.

speaking after felicitating young Chinmayee Bhuyan who chased three criminals
on a two-wheeler after being robbed of her gold chain and cell phone on the
Bhubaneswar streets on Sunday night before overpowering the three
single-handedly forcing them to flee leaving their bike behind.

who is a karate expert, for her bravery, the VC said her expertise would be
utilized to train the students and make them believe in their abilities.

experience, Bhuyan said after the three bike-borne criminals had snatched her
belonging she decided to give them the chase and was confident of overpowering
the hoodlums. “The mind training given to us helped me,” she said.
