Bhubaneswar, Sep 27: Maintaining that Indian food processingsector has enormous potential in terms of production, consumption, export and
growth prospects, Governor Dr SC Jamir on Tuesday urged concerned companies and
stakeholders to invest in food processing and packaging sector as the sector is
growing 15-10 percent annually.
“The Government has made the commercialisation of the
country’s food processing sector the first priority with various fiscal
incentives. Modernisation and digitisation of agriculture sector will harness
toward transformation. A large number of technologies are available now. These
are required to be transferred to farmers’ field,” the Governor.
