PM Modi’s intervention sought for early construction of Odisha NINEI

Bhubaneswar, May 16: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday
wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his intervention for early
construction of the proposed National Institute of New Energy and Innovation (NINEI)
in Bhubaneswar.
Expressing happiness that in renewable energy sector, the Odisha Government
has taken several  initiatives in accordance with the National Development Goals including recent announcement of Odisha Renewable Energy Policy 2016, Patnaik in a letter to the PM said, “In  order to promote  research and innovation in the renewable energy sector, Ministry of New and renewable Energy had
decided to set up a National Institute of New Energy and Innovation in Odisha. Government
of Odisha has also extended support for establishment of the said Institute and has allocated 73.86  acre land free of cost near  lIT, Bhubaneswar.”
“However, MNRE is yet to take possession of the land and to start construction of the building. I,  therefore, request you to kindly intervene in the matter so that construction of the National Institute  of New Energy and Innovation  is started 
at the earliest,” Patnaik urged.
