Special IRB raised in Odisha to accelerate infra growth in LWE affected areas

Bhubaneswar, May 30: The Odisha Government has set up 9th IR battalion
to accelerate infrastructure development in LWE affected areas by providing
security to construction of roads, bridges etc. Fast-paced development will
bring socio-economic progress as well as greater employment & livelihood
opportunities for the people in the hinterland.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today distributed appointment
letters to 490 newly recruited IRB jawans.
“Creating employment opportunities for youth in both
Government and private sector is a high priority for us. We have launched
special campaigns to fill up all vacant posts and have created large number of
posts in essential services including police, Fire services and prisons,” said
Patnaik.
For the new specialised IR battalion, 490 youth have been
selected through an online application process adopted for the first time in
the State police.
The CM asked all recruitment agencies to adopt such method
for ease and convenience of candidates as well as transparency in process.
