Light and sound show inaugurated at Konark Sun Temple

Bhubaneswar, September 9, 2017: Chief Minister Naveen
Patnaik on Saturday launched the much-awaited light and sound show at the historic
Sun Temple in Konark, a Unesco world heritage site.
After missing several deadlines, the project was finally
inaugurated bringing happiness among visitors. Around Rs 5.5-crore was spent
for the project. The audience will be provided with wireless headphones to
witness the show, the first of its kind facility in the country.
A 40-minute show in Odia, Hindi, and English has
been prepared by the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), which
executed the Konark project funded by the State Government. There will be
language options in the headphones and a tourist can choose the most convenient
one. Around 250 tourists will be able to watch the show together.
“The light and show will be a very big value
addition for the already famous world heritage site,” Chief Minister Naveen
Patnaik.

Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Chandra Panda, Revenue
and Disaster Management Minister Maheswar Mohanty and Tourism Director Nitin Bhanudash
Jawale among many others were present.
