Space entrepreneur Susmita Mohanty to head ‘Mo School’ initiative

Bhubaneswar, December 20, 2017: Chief
Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday appointed noted space entrepreneur and founder
CEO of India’s first space StartUp Earth2Orbit Dr Susmita Mohanty as the chairperson
of ‘Mo School’ initiative.
On November 14, on the occasion of
Children’s Day, Patnaik had announced an initial corpus of Rs 100 crore for
this initiative to increase public participation in improving school
infrastructure with help of alma maters. The novel initiative aims to
facilitate a connect with schools and promote volunteerism to give back to
them.
“Her involvement will promote
volunteerism to give back to our schools and inspire us to be a part of the
change that we want to see in them,” said Patnaik.
Born in Cuttack, Dr Mohanty has been
nominated among World’s Top 100 Young Innovators and featured on Fortune
Magazine cover.
“She symbolises the immense
capabilities in Odia children and what they can achieve given the right
support. Led by her, the novel campaign will get a new dimension and inspire
children to dream big and achieve their dreams,” said Patnaik.
