Three-day Odisha Vikash Conclave-2018 from August 24

Bhubaneswar, August 20, 2018: With an aim to discuss how to make Odisha a prosperous State by identifying development deficits among a host of other activities, the Centre for Youth and Social Development (CYSD) in association with several agencies is all set to hold a three-day Odisha Vikash Conclave-2018 from August 24 here.

The three-day conclave will include a series of workshops and meetings on different subjects. The inaugural ceremony will be held at the auditorium of the East Coast Railway Headquarters at Chandrasekharpur on August 24. The valedictory event will be organised at Mayfair Convention in the city on August 26, said Jagadananda of CYSD. The event is being organised for the second time.

Particularly, at least 18 core thematic areas – development tribal people and women, Forest and Natural Resource Management, Food and Nutrition Security, Rain fed Agriculture, Employment and Migration, Skill and Entrepreneurship Development, School Education and Quality Learning, Health and Wellness, Drinking Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Water and River Ecology, Inclusive Governance and Social Accountability, Democratizing Urban Governance, Panchayati Raj, Disaster and Climate Change Action, Corporate Sector in Localising SDGs, University Community Linkage, Social Exclusion and Inequality and Child Rights – have been proposed for discussion/deliberation in the conclave.

Nearly, 1,000 people from across the country will take part in the proposed event.

“A large number of policy makers, social scientists, experts from various fields from across the country have given their consent to grace the occasion and share their views,” said Jagadananda.

The proposed initiative would facilitate larger participation of different stakeholders in the development process and inform people about the innovations and best practices in order to ensure a holistic development of the State by involving people from all sections of the society and also the Government.
