54th Mahavir Mahotsav concludes

Bhawanipatna: The 54th Mahaveer Mahotsav- organised by Mahavir Sanskrutik Anusthan (MSA), a cultural forum, concludes here on Wednesday on the occasion of Children’s Day.

On this occasion, former Minister Rasabihari Behera was felicitated with the Mahavir Award. Litterateur Durga Prasad Panda was honoured with the Prof Bhubaneswar Behera Award while noted director Biplab Keshari Satpathy of Jatani with Natya Rashmi Prafulla Kumar Rath Award.

Besides, folk singer Nilanchal Pan of Bhawanipatna received Kalahandi Yuva Pratibha Award and Soubhagya Manjari Mishra of Bhawanipatna received Sugruhuni Award. The awards were presented for the year 2018.

To mark the occasion, a children’s festival was also organised in the morning. Kalahandi District Education Officer Sanjeev Kumar Singh inaugurated the children’s festival in the presence of District Sarva Siksha Project Cordinator Gabaksha Nayak and Comunity Education Officer Jagannath Purohit, Pradeep Kumar Panda and Amresh Negi.

The valedictory event was organised in the evening. Dharmagarh MLA Puspendra Singh Deo, Bhawanipatna MLA Anam Naik, State Planning Board Special Secretary Sujit Kumar graced the occasion.

Mahavir Sanskrutik Anusthan president Jayant Kumar Behera presided over the meeting.
