3,472 sailors pass out successfully from INS Chilika

Chilika: An inspiring parade marked the culmination of 21 weeks of training and at least 3,472 sailors of the 2018 batch passed out successfully from INS Chilka, the basic training establishment of the Indian Navy on Friday.

The parade was reviewed by Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command. The basic training comprised service and academic subjects and physical training including drill, route march, sailing expeditions, outdoor camps, weapon firing and swimming.

The trainees will now proceed for cadre specific professional training, both at sea and at various professional training schools of the Indian Navy.

Amritpal Singh, SSR, Y Gopi, Navik (GD), SH Hussain, Navik (DB) and A Nautiyal, MR were adjudged as best trainee in the respective categories for their meritorious performance.

The C-in-C awarded medals and trophies to meritorious trainees on the occasion of passing out. The C-in-C also awarded overall championship trophy for Batch 02/2018 to Angad Division for excelling in various inter divisional competitions and released a bilingual magazine ‘Ankur’, encapsulating training activities at INS Chilka at a valedictory function held on Thursday.
