Pulawama terror attack: CM speaks to family members of two Odia martyrs

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday spoke to the family members of two Odia martyrs, who among many CRPF jawans were killed in a terror attack in Pulawama in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

Patnaik talked with the family members of Prasanna Sahu and Manoj Behera over telephone and conveyed his deep sympathy and assured all possible help from the State Government. Patnaik also observed one-minute silence as a mark of respect to the martyrs.

Havildar Prasanna Kumar Sahu (CRPF 61 Battalion) of Shikhar village in Naugaon block of Jagatsinghpur district and Constable Manoj Kumar Behera of Ratanpur village in Niali area in Cuttack district, among nearly 40 CRPF jawans were martyred on Thursday after an IED blast by terrorists struck a bus in which the jawans were travelling in near Goripora of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

The Chief Minister also directed Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera and Health and Family Welfare Minister Pratap Jena to visit the martyrs’ family today.

On Thursday, the Chief Minister also condoled the martyrdom of the jawans.

“Deeply saddened by the martyrdom of so many CRPF jawans in terrorist attack in #Pulwama district of #JammuAndKashmir. Strongly condemn the cowardly act and condolences to the bereaved families,” Patnaik tweeted on Thursday.
