Maoists blow up polling party vehicles in Kandhamal, no casualty reported

Kandhamal: Maoists reportedly blew up two vehicles carrying polling party personnel at Mungunipadar under Sundarbandh panchayat in Phulbani district on Wednesday.

According to sources, the red rebels stopped the two vehicles near Mungunipadar and asked the polling party personnel to come out of the vehicles.

Later, the ultras blew up the two vehicles using explosives. The vehicles were on their way to Phiringia from Phulbani to dispatch the officials engaged in the election process at Mungunipadar polling station.

However, no casualty or damage to the polling party personnel was reported so far. Kandhamal Lok Sabha constituency go to polls in the second phase on Thursday.
