Vedanta’s 25-day Knockout Cricket Tournament ends

Lanjigarh: The annual ‘Knockout Cricket Tournament-2019’ organised by Vedanta NVN Colony’s Golden Sports Club in support from Vedanta Limited’s Lanjigarh unit concluded here recently.

A record 32 teams competed in the 12-over inter-village tournament, held between March 25 and April 14, is one of the most popular sporting tournaments in the region.

In the final match of the tournament, the team from Basantpada beat Biswanathpur by six wickets. While Anjib of Biswanathpur team was awarded the Best Bowler of the Tournament, Bhuteswar Hari (Biswanathpur)  received the Best Fielder award, Ajit Kumar Patra (Biswanathpur) was adjudged Best Keeper, Ram Chandra Goud (Basantpada)  was awarded for Maximum Sixes and Nabin Kumar Naik (Basantpada) was adjudged Man of the Tournament.

Vedanta Lanjigarh Unit COO Rakesh Mohan graced the occasion.

At least 32 teams from across the state participated in the prestigious annual tournament. The teams and villages include Golden Sports Club, Kotraguda, Champadeipur, Basantpada, Ambadola, Chatikona, Harekrushnapur, Rayagada, Kamarda, Chhatrapur, Singpur, Dakulguda, Sardapur, Gopinathpur, Bissamcuttack, Muniguda, Lanjigarh, NVN, Rengopali, Mering, Ramchandrapur, Jagannathpur, Sitapur, Bijepur, Patraguda, Biswanathpur, Lanjigarh Road, Baterlima, Reliving Stars, the Great Bhatguda and Vedanta Township.
