Born on 15 May, 1965, she was terribly captivated with music, drama in her infancy days that conjures up her to create career in Ollywood. She shifted her base to Bhubaneswar and made a debut in Seeta Labkush in 1980.
Aparajita’s father belongs to Bhadrak, and a Muslim by religion and her mother was a Hindu. She is also a recipient of ETV Priya Odia 2009 award and Odisha State Film Award among many others.
She has worked in around 100 Odia films. On February 21, 2014, she entered into politics too. She joined the Congress and unsuccessfully contested from the Cuttack parliamentary segment. Her grandfather Abdus Subhan Khan was a Minister long ago. She might have her political inspiration from him. Now, she is Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader but unsuccessfully contested from Cuttack Lok Sabha seat on a Congress ticket in 2014 and Bhubaneswar (North) Assembly constituency in 2019.
