Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A special Heritage Walk was curated at Old Town for the members of Young Indians (YI) who were mesmerised by the tales and the intricate details of Kalingan Architecture on the walls of the beautiful Mukteswar Temple.

Young Indians (YI) is an initiative by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) that nurtures and nourishes future industry leaders of India. The Heritage Walk was part of a membership interaction programme for the members of YI’s Bhubaneswar chapter.

YI Bhubaneswar Chapter Co-Chairperson Rashmi Gupta said, “I loved everything about the walk, especially the way the details about the sculptures were explained. I am a resident of Bhubaneswar and have always loved these beautiful temples but today’s walk was very insightful.”

Around 25 members of YI along with their families participated in the walk at 6.30 am. Many of the walkers were intrigued by the tales, myths and legends of Ekamrakshetra and were fascinated by how we have integrated them into our daily lives.

“It was a memorable walk and I shall come back again,” said a walker.

The heritage walks that take place every weekend at Khandagiri-Udayagiri, Old Town and Odisha Crafts Museum – Kalabhoomi are an initiative by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) to make people, especially children and young adults culturally sensitive towards our tangible and intangible heritage.
