Several trains affected due to Bharat Bandh in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In view of public agitation at various places over East Coast Railway (ECoR) jurisdiction, particularly in Khurda Road Division, several long distance trains were detained and controlled en-route at different stations.

According to an ECoR communiqué, train movements in Sambalpur and Waltair Railway Divisions were normal. However, some trains were controlled in Waltair Division due to control of trains en-route in Khurda Road Division, suitably. Situation was normal at different stations, including at Bhubaneswar station. At some Stations, trains were running after persuading agitators.

Due to agitations at Talcher, Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak, Kendujhargarh, Berhampur, Puri, Cuttack, Rajsunakhala and Kenduapara stations at least 17 trains were controlled and detained en-route.

While (68407) Bhadrak-Berhampur passenger was stranded at Bhadrak from 6.30 am to 6.46 am, (58425) Kendujhargarh-Bhubaneswar passenger was detained at Kendujhargarh from 6.30 am to 8.40 am, (12893) Bhubaneswar-Balangir Inter City was controlled at Bhubaneswar from 6.30 to 7.15 am, (12863), Howrah-Yesvantpur Express at Berhampur from 6 am to 8.30 am, (68434) Ichhapur-Cuttack MEMU at Berhampur from 7.05 am to 8.35 am, (58132) Puri-Rourkela passenger at Bhubaneswar from 6.40 am to 8.32 am, (18424) Nayagarh Town-Bhubaneswar Seva Express at Rajsunakhala from 7.05 am to 9.35 am, (12842) Chennai-Howrah Coromandal Express at Bhubaneswar from 7.30 am to 8.22 am, (12844) Ahamadabad-Puri Express at Balugaon from 7.25 am to 7.50 am, (18448) Jagadalpur-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express at Balugaon from 8 am to 8.40 am, (18646) Hyderabad-Howrah East Coast Express at Nirakarpur from 7.09 am to 8.30 am, (12246) Yesvantpur-Howrah Duronto Express controlled at Ichhapuram from and now left Chhatrapur at 9.07 am, (12704) Secunderabad-Howrah Falaknuma Express at Sompeta from 6.55 am to 8.20 am, (68420) Palasa-Bhubaneswar MEMU at Mandasa Road from 7.21 am to 8.34 am, (12846) Bangalore Cant.-Bhubaneswar Express at Palasa from 7.36 am to 8.46 am, (58417) Puri-Gunupur Passenger at Puri from 7.35 am to 8.45 am and (68416) Puri – Cuttack Passenger at Puri from 8 am to 9.45 am.

At least five trains were controlled in Waltair division. While (12503) Bangalore Cant-Agartala Humsafar Express was controlled at Nawapara, (17480) Tirupati-Puri Express at Srikakulam Road, (22604) Villupuram-Kharagpur Express at Chipurupalle, (17016) Secunderabad-Bhubaneswar Visakha Express and (18048) Vascodagama-Howrah Amaravati Express at Vizianagaram, respectively.

On the other hand, morning trains – (18409) Howrah-Puri Sri Jaganath Express, (12881) Howrah-Puri Garib Rath Express, (12837) Howrah-Puri Express, (18451) Hatia-Puri Tapaswini Express, (18478) Haridwar-Puri Kalinga Utkal Express, (12802) New Delhi-Puri Purusottam Express – towards Puri arrived in time.

Similarly, three local passenger trains were (68438/68437) Cuttack-Bhadrak-Cuttack Passenger was cancelled from both the directions, while (68411/68412) Bhubaneswar-Berhampur-Bhubaneswar Passenger was from both the directions and (58406/58405) Pardip-Cuttack-Paradip Passenger was cancelled from both the directions.
