Puri: In view of the spike in Coronavirus cases in the country and amid fears of transmission of the virus in Puri and Konark, the two premier tourist destinations of the State, the Puri district administration on Sunday announced closure of Sun Temple at Konark for tourists for the next seven days.
“Sun Temple at Konark will remain closed for tourists and visitors for the next seven days to check the outbreak of the Coronavirus,” informed Puri Collector Balwant Singh here.
Singh said that necessary preventive measures have been put in place by the administration as per the advisory issued in the country.
Hundreds of tourists from across the globe visit the 13th century stone-craved monument daily.
So far the State has not yet recorded a single case of Coronavirus.
