Bhubaneswar: A day after the moratorium period on the crisis-hit Yes Bank ended, the private bank on Thursday remitted Rs 397 crore to the designated SBI account of Jagannath Temple Corpus Fund at Puri Main Branch.

The remaining principal of Rs 156 crore and interest will be remitted upon maturity on March 30.

“We have remitted Rs 397,23,636 (Principal amount Rs 389 crore and interest Rs 8,23,27,636) to the designated SBI Account no 10913111382 of Jagannath Temple Corpus Fund, IFSC Code: SBIN0000158, SBI Main Branch Puri,” said Yes Bank Senior Vice President Jaydev Das in a letter to Shree Jagannath Temple Chief Administrator Krishan Kumar on Thursday.

Das further said that the two more fixed deposits (FDs) of Rs 156 crore will be remitted on the date of maturity on March 30.

The 12th century shrine administration has been drawing flak from different quarters, including servitors and opposition political parties, for depositing the temple funds in the private Yes Bank last year.
