Odisha Govt constitutes committee to seek experts’ views to combat Coronavirus

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has constituted a committee led by Finance Department Principal Secretary Ashok Meena to engage with various knowledge institutions, experts and technology companies to provide strategic direction to deal with novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the State.

Industries and MSME Department Principal Secretary Hemant Sharma, OSD to Chief Secretary on COVID-19 Management and Sports and Youth Services and Tourism Department Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev, Electronics and IT Department Secretary Manoj Mishra and OSD to Chief Advisor, CM’s office on COVID-19 management Vineel Krishna are part of the panel. Representatives of the Health and Family Welfare Department will also be inducted in the panel.

“The Committee is constituted to engage with various knowledge institutions, experts and technology companies etc to provide strategic direction and measures to deal with situation arising out of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the way forward to tackling the emerging situation,” said an order of the General Administration and Public Grievance Department.

The Committee was also empowered to co-opt any member from Government or non-Government organisations and can also engage any consultancy firm or consultants with relevant domain knowledge.
