In a single day jump, three more persons test positive for Covid-19 in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In a big single day jump in detection of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) positive cases from Bhubaneswar, a total of three persons from Bomikhal area tested positive for the disease on Friday.

The State Health and Family Welfare Department confirmed this, taking the total tally of positive cases to nine, of which the two patients have been cured and discharged, so far.

As a direct fallout of this surge in positive cases, the State Government has imposed complete shutdown in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Bhadrak Town, which have reported Covid-19 cases, for 48 hours between 8 pm of Friday and 8 pm on Sunday to check the spread of community spreading of the virus.

“Three persons of Bomikhal, Bhubaneswar test positive for COVID-19. Total number of positive cases in the State goes upto 9 now,” tweeted Health and Family Welfare Department.

Meanwhile, the first and second Covid-19 patients have been cured and discharged from the hospital. Now, there are seven active Covid-19 cases in the State.

Earlier, in the day a native of Cuttack town, who had participated in the religious congregation at Tabligh-e-Jamaat’s Markaz in Nizamuddin West in Delhi, tested positive for the disease triggering concerns.
