DGP visits Bhadrak, reviews Covid-19 shutdown situation with officials

Bhadrak: Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay on Sunday visited Bhadrak Town and reviewed implementation of shutdown enforced by the State Government to contain the spread of novel Coronavirus in the region.

The DGP also took stock of the functioning of police helpline and asked the officials to strictly implement the shutdown in the town after it reported Covid-19 positive cases.

IG (Eastern range) Diptesh Patnaik and Bhadrak SP Rajesh Pandit briefed the DGP about the measures taken by the police in implementing the 48-hour shutdown.

Meanwhile, at least 17 persons have been forcibly kept in institutional quarantine for a period of 14-days after they violated shutdown restrictions.

Notably, the State Government has imposed a 48-hour shutdown in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Bhadrak Town since 8 pm of Friday to prevent community spreading of the Covid-19 after these places reported positive cases.
