Two new COVID-19 cases in Bhubaneswar; tally rises to 23 in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The total number of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Odisha has gone up to 23 as two more persons  from Bhubaneswar, including a 70-year-old Australia-returned man tested coronavirus positive on Sunday, Health and Family Welfare Department said.

Of the total 23 cases, Bhubaneswar alone reported 16 positive cases.

While a 70-year-old Australia-returned man from Kapil Prasad Housing Board Colony Phase-II Colony, who was in home quarantine after he returned from March 22, tested positive for the disease the 29-year-old man from Bomikhal tested positive for the disease during active surveillance.

Earlier, three brothers from Bomikhal area tested positive for the COVID-19.

“Two more COVID POSITIVE cases in Bhubaneswar. One 70 years old male of Kapila Prasad Housing Board Colony Phase II who had returned from Australia on 22.3.2020 (home quarantine case) Another, one 29 years old male from Bomikhal found out during active surveillance,” tweeted the Health and Family Welfare Department.

Now, there are 21 active cases in the State. Two COVID-19 patients have been cured and discharged.
