VIMSAR PG medical students seek timely completion of final exam

Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The PG medical students of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla on Thursday sought timely completion of final examinations with available examiners within State. Schools and colleges have been shut and all types of examinations have been cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak in the country for indefinite period.

VIMSAR Junior Doctors’ Association president Dr Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra wrote a letter to the Medical Council of India (MCI) Board of Governors requesting it of holding the final year MD, MS examinations.

“With all due respect we the final year residents would like to draw your attention towards our precarious situation with regards to our final examination. As the residents have taken admission during the month of May and June, 2017 all will complete the 36 months in the next month. After the completion of this term we the residents would lose valuable time and post PG experience which would invite legal issues in future, because of no fault of ours. We will be denied opportunities,” Mishra said in the letter.

“Therefore, keeping in view these extraordinary circumstances we would request your good self to consider final year examination with internal examiners or external examiners within the State to complete this exercise as soon as possible in the next month and to issue necessary instruction in this regard to medical colleges and university,” said Mishra.
