PM Modi to visit vaccine manufacturing facilities in three cities tomorrow

New Delhi, November 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a three-city visit on Saturday to personally review the vaccine development and manufacturing process.

The Prime Minister will visit the Zydus Biotech Park in Ahmedabad, Bharat Biotech in Hyderabad and Serum Institute of India in Pune.

Modi’s visit to these facilities and discussions with the scientists will help him get a first hand perspective of the preparations, challenges and roadmap in India’s endeavour to vaccinate its citizens.

“Tomorrow, PM @narendramodi will embark on a 3 city visit to personally review the vaccine development & manufacturing process. He will visit the Zydus Biotech Park in Ahmedabad, Bharat Biotech in Hyderabad & Serum Institute of India in Pune,” tweeted the PMO.

“As India enters a decisive phase of the fight against COVID-19, PM’s visit to these facilities & discussions with the scientists will help him get a first hand perspective of the preparations, challenges & roadmap in India’s endeavour to vaccinate its citizens,” the tweeted PMO.

The Prime Minister would first visit Bharat Biotech in Hyderabad. Later, he will be visiting the facilities of Zydus Cadila in Ahmedabad where ZyCoV-D is being developed and Serum Institute of India facilities in Pune where AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine will be manufactured.

The officials of the three facilities will explain to the Prime Minister various aspects of the vaccine development and their rollout plans.
