New Delhi, November 27: Union Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday laid the foundation stone of Leafiniti Bioenergy’s press mud-based compressed bio-gas (CBG) plant at Jamkhandi in Karnataka through video conference.

The plant will produce CBG from sugarcane press-mud and pave the way for creation of a circular economy in the biofuel value chain.

Apart from producing CBG for use in automotive, industrial and other commercial areas, the plant being set up with technological collaboration of PRAJ Industries Ltd will also produce solid fertilisers and liquid manure and give further momentum to waste-to-wealth creation.

“Under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership we have laid a vibrant policy framework through SATAT to enable a conducive ecosystem for green fuels. Our scientific fervor and innovative capabilities will help in effective monetisation of our huge bio-waste reserves into wealth,” said Pradhan.

The Union Minister also congratulated PRAJ Industries Ltd, Leafinity Bioenergy and DVO Inc. for this innovative initiative.

“Our Government under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi is committed to achieve sustainable and cleaner pathways in building an Aatmanirbhar India,” said Pradhan further.
