SBI Main Branch sealed in Bhubaneswar after employees test COVID-19 positive

Bhubaneswar, April 4: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday sealed the Main Branch of State Bank of India (SBI) located in Unit-1 area in State capital city for two days after seven of its employees tested COVID-19 positive.

“In view of detection of a series of COVID-19 positive cases in SBI, Main Branch, Unit-1, Bhubaneswar, in larger public interest and with a view to contain the further spread of virus, SBI Main Branch (Ground Floor & First Floor) is sealed for a period of 48 hours from April 4 to 6,” stated a BMC order.

Except authorised persons, no one will be allowed to move into or from outside the bank premises, it said.

Further, an RT-PCR test camp will be conducted for all staff on April 6 in which housekeeping and security personnel will be tested invariably, it added.

BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said the branch was sealed for two days for necessary sanitisation and contact tracing of the patients.
