CM sanctions Rs 10 crore to BMC for COVID-19 management in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, April 30: In view of surge in COVID-19 cases, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday sanctioned Rs 10 crore out of Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation to strengthen fight against the pandemic.

The Chief Minister also announced additional five kg rice each for beneficiaries of the State Food Security Act for May and June.

Odisha on Friday reported 8,681 new COVID-19 positive cases, the highest single-day surge since the break of the pandemic in the State. Of it, Bhubaneswar reported 1,119 cases taking the total active count to 44,415.

Now, the positive tally in the State surged to 4,44,194‬. The State has 61,698 active cases.
