COVID-19 effect: Four pairs of special trains to be cancelled for poor patronisation

Bhubaneswar, May 6: The Indian Railways has decided to cancel services of four special trains originating from the East Coast Railway (ECoR) jurisdiction, said an official release.

Decission to this effect was taken due to poor patronisation in the four special trains and keeping in view the surge of COVID-19 infection.

According to an ECoR statement, Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Special (08445/08446) originating from Bhubaneswar from May 8 to 22 and from Jagadalpur from May 9 to 23 will remain cancelled.

The Visakhapatnam-Kirandul-Visakhapatnam Special (08516/08515) originating from Visakhapatnam between May 7 and 21 and from Kirandul from May 8 to 22 will remain cancelled, it said.

Similarly, the Tirupati-Visakhaptnam-Tirupati Special (02708/02707) from Tirupaati between May 7 and 30 and from Visakhapatnam between May 8-31 will remain cancelled, the statement added.

The Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Special (02784/02783) from Secunderabad between May 8-29 and from Visakhapatnam between May 9-30 will remain suspended too.
