Odisha CM sanctions Rs 20 crore for RT-PCR COVID-19 testing labs in 16 districts

Bhubaneswar, May 11: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday sanctioned Rs 20 crore to set up RT-PCR testing laboratories in 16 districts in the State in view of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, said an official release.

According to a Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) statement, the laboratories would come up Bhadrak, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Nuapada, Sonepur, Kandhamal, Sundergarh, Rayagada and Bargarh distrticts.

Approval has also been given for engagement of one microbiologist and three technicians in each RT-PCR lab, the statement said.
