Aaradhya extends support to cyclone-hit people

Puri: Extending help to cyclone Fani-hit people, Bhubaneswar-based Aaradhya Charitable Trust (ACT), a voluntary organization, on Friday initiated a week-long relief distribution work at Bandhapada village in Balanga Bazaar area under Nimapara block in Puri district.

On the first day, nearly 100 people were provided with different relief materials like polythene and candles, besides being served with cooked food.

Trust managing trustee Sagarika Satpathy, and members Manorama Swain, Kishore Behera, Dilip Swain, Rosalin Sahoo and Premananda Behera were generously helping the affected villagers.

The cyclone battered Puri on May 3, leaving behind a trail of destruction. The pilgrim town has suffered colossal damage, with power lines, trees, boundary walls falling flat everywhere.
