At mega rally, minorities vow to ensure victory for Amson Mallick

Mohana: Odisha Mulnivasi Mancha convenor Rabi Rathan on Saturday attacked BJP and Congress for making false promises and misleading voters ahead of the general election and Assembly elections.

While addressing an election rally organized for independent candidate Amson Mallick for Mohana Assembly constituency, Rathan also criticised the former MLA for ignoring dalits, tribals and minorities.

Many State-level Christian leaders, social activists attended the rally and decided to ensure victory for Amson Mallick. Nearly, 5,000 people attended the rally.

All Odisha Christian Council general secretary Thomas Michel said that, “The Church does not have any ideological leanings or association with any political party, front or candidate. But we are concerned about minorities’ rights and safety.”

He said that Mohana Assembly constituency has 73 per cent Christian population. “And we do not like to see another Kandhamal-like situationin Gajapati.”

Among others, youth leader Manoj Paltasingh, Prakash Nayak, Simancha Parichha, Rutu Mallick, Lazar Majhi and advocate Rabindra Singh vowed to support Amson.
