Jharsuguda: Senior BJD leader and former MLA Anup Sai was detained by Chakradhar Nagar police in Chhattisgarh in connection with a murder case of a woman and her daughter in 2016.

Sources said a team of police officers of the neighbouring State picked up Sai from Jharsuguda on Wednesday night. He is now being interrogated by Chhattisgarh police sleuths.

The former MLA has been appointed as the Chairperson of Odisha Warehousing Corporation by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in August last year after he was denied a party ticket in the Assembly elections.
