CM approves rationalisation of 905 posts in Odisha Police

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday approved rationalisation of 905 posts in the Odisha Police which will help in strengthening of 220 police stations.

“The Chief Minister has approved this rationalisation for strengthening of the police stations for better crime control and efficient delivery of citizen centric services,” said a CMO statement.

Besides the rationalisation of 905 posts, the Chief Minister has also approved creation of 6 new police stations in various districts of the State by bifurcation of existing police stations.

“The existing police stations which will be bifurcated creating six new police stations are Khandagiri Police Station in Bhubaneswar, Angul Town Police station in Angul district, Jharsuguda Town Police Station in Jharsuguda district, Bhanjanagar Police Station in Ganjam, and Bhadrak (Rural) Police Station and Tihidi Police Station in Bhadrak districts,” it said.

This rationalisation will also help strengthening of 220 police stations and six outposts in 21 police districts of the State.
