As per the forensic report, the injuries were of similar nature and natures – trachea cutting, multiple side cuts, one single fatal blow with some mild blows. All are incised caused by sharp by sharp cutting weapon with one deep cut injury.

The report concluded that the injuries speak that the obsessed killer is enjoying while executing the offence. All the victims have deep cuts in their necks.

While the first body was recovered from Ranihat Bridge on July 23 morning, two bodies, one from near New Cardiology Department of SCB Medical College and Hospital and another from OMP Market, were recovered on July 24 morning triggering panic among the residents. After committing the crime the alleged psychopath left the city.

Commissioner of Police Satyajit Mohanty today said that police talked to the Professors and Head of FMT Department of SCB about the nature of injuries, mode of execution and type of weapon used in all three cases.

“In all three cases, Ranihat, Chauliaganj and New Cardiology, the injuries are of similar natures – trachea cutting, multiple side cuts, one single fatal blow with some mild blows. All are incised caused by sharp by sharp cutting weapon with one deep cut injury. In Ranihat and Chauliaganj case, vessels were cut leading to instant death. In New Cardiology case, vessels were not cut and there were defensive injuries that’s why he could come alive for brief treatment,” the forensic report stated.

“The weapon of offence is moderately heavy and execution is same. In all the cases the victims were asleep flat. Injuries indicate no attack in standing position. Fatal blow injury causing death is little wider. Hence, the presumption of using a Rangia with elbow length wood handle is more possible,” the report read

“The injuries speak that the obsessed killer is enjoying while executing the offence,” the report concluded.
