Girls outshine boys in Odisha Plus-II Arts, Commerce & Vocational results

Bhubaneswar: Girls outshone boys in the Plus-II Arts, Commerce and Vocational streams, the results of which were declared by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) here on Friday.

The overall pass percentage in Arts, Commerce and Vocational was 65.89%, 70.26%, and 52.62%, respectively.

In Arts stream 94,881 girls (73.99%) have cleared the exam compared to 57,442 boys (55.80%) while in Commerce 7,088 girls (74.52%) have passed against 11,738 (67.91%) boys. In Vocational stream, 12,144 girls (57.68%) girls have passed the exam against 1982 boys (47.92%).

A total of 1,52,323 students out of 2,31,150 students have cleared the exam in Arts stream. In Commerce, 18,826 students of the total 26,794 have qualified the examination. Out of the total 7,840 students, 4,126 examinees have passed in the Vocational stream.

While Balasore district registered the highest pass rate of 75.67 per cent, Nabarangpur recorded the least pass rate at 47.46 per cent in the Arts stream. Khurda district registered the highest pass rate of 89 per cent Deogarh witnessed the least pass rate with 24.34 per cent in the Commerce stream.

In vocational stream, Balasore district has recorded highest pass percentage (74.34%). Nabarangpur has recorded the lowest pass percentage (8.33%).

School and Mass Education Minister Sameer Ranjan Dash released the result booklet here in the presence of senior CHSE and Directorate of Higher Education authorities.
