Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra: Parking lots, traffic restrictions for the festival

Puri: The pilgrim city is all set to witness Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra on Thursday amidst tight security being pressed into service for the annual event.

Lakhs of devotees are expected to visit Puri on Thursday to witness the annual car festival in which the deities come out from the sanctum sanctorum and board the three chariots and visit Gundicha temple.

Meanwhile, State police has issued traffic advisory for devotees visiting Puri.

1) Inter State-Tourist Buses

All interstate tourist buses from Bhubaneswar side will be allowed to Puri up to Malatipatapur and will park at Malatipatapur New Bus stand. The return will be in the same route.

2) Light vehicle- Three wheeler

All light vehicle/three wheeler/four wheeler came from Bhubaneswar side on NH-316 will be allowed to reach the parking place at Talabania via Malatipatapur-ROB-Toshali Chwok-Grid Station-Bhudan. Their return route is via ITI crossing-Central School-Grid Station-Balighat-Gopalpur Crossing-Samangara-Biraharekrushnapur-Malatipatapur.

3) Light vehicle with Pass

All light vehicles with car pass from Bhubaneswar side will be allowed to proceed to the specified parking place i.e at Gadadhar High School via Malatipatapur- Biraharekrushnapur Chwok-Charinala-Atharanala-Hospital Crossing-VIP Road-Subas Boss Chwok -Hans Coco Pam crossing-Lokanath road-Brushav Chwok. Their return to Bhubaneswar will be via Lokanath Road-Hans Coco Pam-Sterline road-via Omkareswar Temple-Mangalahat-Batagaon-Malatipatapur.

4) Two-wheeler

All two wheeler from Bhubaneswar side will park specified parking place at Jagannath Ballava, Masanichandi Chwok, Old Jail parking place via Malatipatapur-Batagaon-Mangalahat-Masanichandi-Devighat. Exist route of Jagannath Ballava. The return will be via Jatiababa Chwok -Kumbharapada-Atharana-Charinala-Malatipatapur.

Two wheelers from Brahmagiri side will also park at Jagannath Ballava via Masanichandi Chwok. Their return will be in the same route.

Two wheeler from Konark side will park at Sri Jagannath Sankrist Susthan via Grid Station-Bhudan-ITI crossing. Their return route will be via ITI crossing-Central School-Grid Station.

5) Auto Rickshaw

From Talabania to Ram Mandir Chwok via Sadar block – Odisha Bekery-Ram Mandir. Return will be via Shrikhetra Colony Road.

Light vehicle- three wheeler from Brahmagiri side will be allowed up to Florish India and will park there. The return will be in the same route.

Light vehicle from Konark side will be allowed to Puri, Talabania via Grid station-Bhudan-ITI and their return will be via ITI crossing-Central school-Bhudan-Grid Station-Toshali.
