Odisha Governor to donate Rs 34 lakh for Corona fight

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal has decided to donate a total of Rs 34 lahk – Rs 13.2 lakh to PM’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situation (PM CARES) Fund and Rs 21 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) – to help Governments in the fight against coronavirus.

The Governor will donate 30 per cent of his one-year’s salary amounting Rs 13.2 lakh to PM CARES Fund and Rs 21 lakh to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) from his Discretionary Grant.

He appealed to people to contribute as much as they could to fight the Coronavirus outbreak.

“In response to the call given by Hon’ble PM in the wake of #COVID19Pandemic, Hon’ble Governor decided to contribute Re.13.2 lakh (30% of salary from Mar, 2020 – Feb 2021) to the #PMCaresFunds and donate Rs 21 lakh to #CMReliefFund from his Discretionary Grant. The Hon’ble Governor has also appealed people to come forward & contribute towards #PMCaresFunds and #CMReliefFund with open hands to fight the corona virus disaster,” the Governor said in a tweet.
