Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said Odisha is set to reject BJD and urged voters at his address in Jeypore to bring BJP Government both in the State and also at teh centre to usher development.

“Can you trust the Government hand in glove with chit fund scamsters and mining mafia. Odisha can become ‘majboot’ only when BJP forms Government both in Odisha and at Centre,” said Modi while addressing a massive public meeting at Jeypore in Koraput district.

Coming down heavily on both BJD and Congress Modi said, “You (People) have to decide what should be done with Congress that you bestowed responsibility of developing Odisha for decades and to BJD that you reposed faith for so many years for the development of the State. Until we give them a jolt, they won’t change,” said Modi, appealing to the people to bring ‘double-engine’ BJP Government to usher development.

Koraput will go for simultaneous polls on April 11 in the first phase.

He also blasted the State Government for not cooperating in implementing PM KISAN.

“The State is not giving even list of beneficiaries for PM-KISAN. Instead it is giving money to fake beneficiaries under a different scheme. It is also not implementing Ayushman Bharat,” said Modi.

Though the Prime Minister raised several issues and targeted the BJD Government, but he didn’t mention the name of Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik at all in his speech.

“People of Odisha are tired of mining mafia, chit fund scams, misgovernance and inability to solve issues relating to health and education. Odisha is set to reject BJD. Congress is nowhere in the picture,” said Modi.

Before addressing the rally, PM Modi called on stage all the party candidates from Koraput and Nabarangpur Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies to begin his campaign and introduced them with the people. He also congratulated tribal agricultural activist from Koraput and Padma Shri awardee Kamala Pujari on the dais.
