PM Modi to review Bhubaneswar Smart City progress on June 25

Bhubaneswar, June 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi would review the
progress of the Bhubaneswar Smart City progress through videoconferencing on
June 25.
As per the schedule, the Prime Minister would hold a
discussion with Housing and Urban Development Minister Puspendra Singhdeo, Culture
and Tourism Minister Ashok Chandra Panda, two Bhubaneswar MLAs, Bijay Mohanty,
Priyadarshi Mishra Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Ananta Narayan
Jena, Commissioner Dr Krishan Kumar and Smart City CEO Vineel Krishna via videoconferencing
from Pune.
Modi is scheduled to inaugurate work on Smart City projects
from Pune on June 25. The works would start simultaneously in 20 cities across
the country, including in Bhubaneswar which topped the Smart City list
announced earlier this year.
Meanwhile, to fine tune the interaction a senior official of
the Union Urban Development Ministry visited Bhubaneswar and held discussions
with Smart City Ltd and BMC officials. A preparatory meeting was also held at
the National Informatics Centre (INC) here where the officials will talk to the
PM.  
The Smart City mission, one of the flagship programmes of
the NDA Government, was announced on June 25 last year.
