Pramod Jena assumes charge as ECoR Principal Chief Operations Manager

Bhubaneswar: Pramod Kumar Jena, an officer of the 1987-batch of the Indian Railways Traffic Service (IRTS), has taken over as the new Principal Chief Operations Manager (PCOM) of East Coast Railway (ECoR).

He has taken over as the head of the Operations wing of the highest-loading Railway zone in the country at a time when the zone has been given a tough target of 200 million tonnes of freight loading this fiscal year.

Prior to this new posting, he was working as PCOM of South East Central Railway at Bilaspur and before that working as Principal Chief Commercial Manager (PCCM) in South Eastern Railway at Kolkata.

He has had all-round experience of Railway working and has served with distinction in the Freight Operations, Coaching Operations, Safety, Planning, General Administration Departments of the Railways. As the head of the Operations Department, his immediate priorities include achieving of the stiff loading target, improved punctual running of trains, putting infrastructure planning, better logistics supply to industries and strategic connectivity to ports.

After completing MA in Economics from JNU in1984, Jena, a resident of Kolar village of Jagatsinghpur district, has joined in Indian Railways.
