Top cop mantra for student leaders

Bhubaneswar: Crime Branch CID IG Arun Bothra on Saturday called upon student leaders to maintain discipline and punctuality and understand responsibility to achieve the goal of the student community.

Addressing students on the occasion of investiture ceremony of the newly selected student council of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur here, Bothra advised the students to follow the ideals at every step irrespective of the situation.

“Discipline, punctuality and responsibilities can well smoothen the goal set by the students especially leaders. Students should always to follow the ideals at every step irrespective of the situation,” said the top cop.

School chairman Madan Mohan Panda presided over the function and Principal Dr KC Satapathy administered the oath of responsibilities.

Among others, DAV Kalinganagar chairman SC Mishra and Principals of other DAV Schools were present as guests.

School leader Ipsita Avinandita, assistant leader Piyush Jena, cultural Secretary S Jyotika, sports secretary Vivekananda Nayak, house coordinator teachers Sabita Panda, Sharmila Dash and other house in-charge teachers had taken new responsibilities.

In the afternoon, the 4th edition of All Odisha DAV Heritage Quiz was conducted under the aegis of Regional Directorate, DAV Odisha Zone-1 where 40 schools participated.

DAV Chandrasekharpur emerged as the Champion with 215 points and Mother’s Public School Runners up with 200 points. Quiz Master Somanath Chanda conducted the quiz and I/C teacher Dr Sarbadaman Singh coordinated it. After the preliminary round, six best teams took part in the final round.

Regional officer Dr KC Satapathy handed over the trophy and certificates to the winners.
