Trainee police officers of North East learn policing practices of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A group of 28 trainee police officials, including three Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), 23 Sub-Inspector and three Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) from the North Eastern Police Academy (NEPA) in Meghalaya on Wednesday interacted with Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissioner of Police Satyajit Moahnaty as a part of their three-day visit to the State.

The officers were briefed on various urban policing methods undertaken by the Commissionerate police to maintain law and order in State capital Bhubaneswar and its neghbiouring city Cuttack.

The group was in the state as a part of ‘Bharat Darshan’ in which police officers were taken to different States of the country to witness the policing methods and expand their knowledge.

Additional Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar Singh DCP (Commissionerate Headquarters) Padmini Sahoo also briefed the trainee cops on policing.

The North Eastern Police Academy (erstwhile the Regional Police Training College) is an establishment of the Union Government.

It is engaged in shaping police officers of north eastern States for equitable, effective and sensitive policing. It is dedicated to teaching the police personal of north eastern States to safeguard the value of freedom – freedom from disorder, criminal acts and criminals.

It imparts one year basic training to the directly recruited police officers of the rank of Sub- Inspector and Deputy Superintendents of Police of north east States.
